68bn Needed to Fulfill Presidential Health Pledges
The Ministry of Health is seeking for Sh68Bn for the implementation of Presidential pledges that were made by President Yoweri Museveni in the health sector.
The minister of health Ruth Aceng while appearing before the health committee to present the ministerial policy statement noted that presidential pledges in the sector are now at 68 billion and says that there is need to start fulfilling them .
Aceng says that the ministry wants to be allocated atleaset 6 billion shillings in this financial year to deal with the critical areas so that they can be fulfilled in a phased manner.
Aceng informed the committee that the pledges are among the unfunded priorities in the ministery and if accorded the funds they hope to start with construction of health facilities in island districts like kalangala ,namisindwa,mayuge and Buvuma.
