Immigration Officer Jailed For 36 Months For Making False Passports
The Anti -corruption court has handed down a 3 year imprisonment term to an immigration assistant working with the ministry of Internal Affairs in- charge of Kikagati Boarder post for making illegal passport entries.
53 year old Willy Mukula who has been working with the ministry of Internal Affairs for 30 years has been sentenced by grade one magistrate Moses Nabende after being satisfied by prosecution evidence .
Evidence adduced by 4 Eritrean Nationals who are also victims in these transactions indicates that they have dealt with Mukula between 6 to15years respectively at the Kukagati border post in Isigiro district.
Prosecution proved that on November 22nd 2014 Mukula unlawfully made entries in several passports of Eritrean Nationals purporting that they have exited Tanzania and entered Uganda on whereas not.
The magistrate sentenced Mukula to 36 months saying his actions are a threat to national security and they cannot be taken lightly.
