Ssebulime's Murder Suspect Remanded
A policeman has been charged with the murder of Ronald Ssebulime.
Corporal David Ssali 46 attached to Nagalama Police Station was arraigned before the Mukono Grade I Magistrate Mariam Nulugya on Thursday.
Court heard that Ssali on Sunday, March 24, at Nagojje Trading Center in Kayunga District, shot dead Ronald Ssebulime.
Rachael Namutebi, who appeared on behalf of the Resident State Attorney, told court that investigations into the case are still on-going and requested for need more time.
Nulugya remanded Ssali to Luzira Prisons until April, 30th.
Muwada Nkunyingi, the lawyer of Ssebulime’s family says that he hopes the deceased’s family will receive justice.
Ssebulime was gunned down by police officers on March 24, in Mukono District on suspicion of tracking ICT State Minister Idah Nantaba with intentions of harming her.
Police officers on patrol arrested Ssebulime, handcuffed him and dumped him on a police patrol van before they pulled him down and shot him dead.
